Discovery NotesA 10cm deep hole was dug to get to material that was soil-like. The sample was placed in a plastic sandwich bag and transported to lab, where it was stored at RT until use.
Naming NotesThe phage is named Earhart after Amelia Earhart- Just as she disappeared at a pivotal point in her career, the phage has not been present in spot plates or plaque assays since the original phage lysate was created, even though the TEM shows phage present.
