Discovery NotesEddie was collected .5 inches underneath damp soil near a tree root. The tree was located next to a lake on low ground. The weather was sunny and 73 degrees. After calculation from our TEM image we concluded Eddie's tail is 142. 86 nm long with a capsid of 157.14 nm.
Naming NotesOur phage was named Eddie because it was the fifth plaque assay for purification formed and with each plaque assay we used the next letter in the alphabet for naming. Therefore, E is the fifth letter in the alphabet which correlates to our fifth plaque assay for purification, so we named it Eddie.
