Discovery Notes | This phage was found from a sample of soil collected in the grass of commons lawn at Calvin University. The soil contained organic matter (dirt, some grass; collected roughly an inch below the surface) and also contained part of a chocolate chip cookie. The soil was quite moist as it had rained the day before collection. |
Naming Notes | Since the phage was obtained from a sample that was mostly cookie, I wanted to name the phage "cookie monster". But that does not sound very cool, so I flipped cookie backwards to get the name of my phage. |
