Naming NotesThe name ElKhan started from El conquistador, the idea being the phage "conquers" bacteria. Since this name was invalid for a phage name it was shortened to ElKhan, Khan being a pseudo-pun as a shortened version of conquistador and the name of a major antagonist in the Star Trek universe.
