Discovery NotesFound at Eppendorfer Mühlenteich, which translates to Eppendorf mill pond. The soil was moist, but was added to a phage buffer solution to be transported across seas back to South Texas. The soil/buffer solution remained inside a fridge for about 5 weeks before enriched. The phage was found in one of the only two plaque on a plate (right at the edge).
Naming NotesFound in the district of Eppendorf in Hamburg, Germany. The was that isolated the phage (Jamie and Amber) just called it Eppy in short-hand to refer to the original soil sample.
