Discovery NotesThis phage was discovered within a soil sample collected on the grounds of Baylor University. The soil was located near Waco Creek underneath a Bald Cypress Tree. The soil metadata placed it in the Sandy Loam category with a pH of 6 and a water percentage of 19.8%.
Naming NotesThis phage name is the phonetical spelling of S.T.K., standing for She Took the Kids. The phage was named this because one of the participants is leaving the class after the first semester. In a late lab, while arguing for custody and naming rights over the phage, I said "It's over, she took the kids" and the name stuck.
