Discovery Notes | Was found on September 18, 2016 from 28cm under a pile of gravel where it was known that oils and gasoline has been dumped. The time of collection was 3:29pm, and the weather at the time was sunny and 84F. |
Naming Notes | The phage name is derived from the seventh greek letter, eta, and can also be used in the name of the seventh star in a constellation. The B part of the name is because it was my second enrichment from that sample (the first being a gordonia enrichment), and B is the second letter of the alphabet. |

Plaque Notes | The plaques are extremely turbid and small, ranging between 1 and 0.5mm. They are very hard to see, and must be held up to the light in order to be seen clearly. During the last round of dilutions, two types of mutants appeared on top of a bed of my original plaques. These mutants were about 1.25-1.5mm in size, with a few displaying a "halo" morphology and others displaying the characteristic turbidity that I had bee previously seeing. |
