Discovery NotesSoil sample was collected in Lullwater Park. Semi-shady soil in mossy area with few trees. Sandy dry soil. Surface soil was collected.
Naming NotesThe name came from the German folklore for the Lorelei, the young woman who drowned in the Rhine and enticed sailors with her singing. Some have equated her to the sirens, who appears in different forms depending on who the onlooker is. This phage has shown varying plaque morphologies if left for long enough.
