Discovery NotesFound in a home vegetable garden in Barrhaven, Ottawa.

Genomic DNA was sequenced on an ONT MinION using R10.4.1 chemistry. The sequence assembled into one contig of 68,816 bp with 100% query coverage and 99.26% nucleotide identity to Mycobacterium phage MrPhizzler (Cluster B1). Based on the genome length and full-length alignment to a complete reference genome, this phage genome is considered complete.
Naming NotesThe name Fergusina was chosen after watching an Instagram reel that mentioned top 10 names for women in STEM. Fergusina was one of the names from that list and it spoke to me the most.
