Discovery NotesThe soil sample was collected on August 27, 2012 at 9:30 pm. The depth of the soil was 4.0 cm. Since it rained earlier that day the soil was a bit moist. The sample was taken from an urban area. It was taken 5-7 feet from cement and major roads. The area was not sloped and it was facing the east direction.
Naming NotesThe name of the phage, "the fighter", came from a song.It represented this phage because it was challenging to work with. There were many steps that needed to be repeated because the phage was difficult to isolate. After much patience and hard work, the phage was finally successfully isolated.
