Discovery NotesIt was discovered in soil in between the Mullins Center Community Ice Rink and Mullins Center in UMass Amherst. The exact conditions and exact location is hard to tell since this phage was adopted.
Naming NotesWe liked the name Philip but decided to spell it as Filip. Since Philip reminded us of the Philippines, we decided to attach Manila, the country's capital, to the name Filip, therefore FilipManila was born.

Plaque NotesThe size of the plaques varied a lot but when we adopted the phage (after it was isolated), most of the plaques were around 9-10 mm. They were circular in shape, had a bullseye morphology with defined edges, and were clear.
