Discovery NotesThe sample was harvested from a grassy area that had been freshly mowed. The soil was very dense and slightly damp. The soil contained some sand and contained a lot of grassy particles and a smaller amount of topsoil.
Naming NotesThe phage has been incredibly difficult to isolate because of its delicacy. It can not be vortexed without breaking apart and collapses while suspended in lysate. The plaques also have a small burst size and contribute to a very low concentration of lysate. The lysate we harvested was 10^-2.
Sequencing Information
Sequencing Complete?No
Genome length (bp)Unknown
Character of genome endsUnknown
Fasta file available?No
Characterization
ClusterUnclustered
Subcluster--
Annotating InstitutionUnknown or unassigned
Annotation StatusNot sequenced
Plaque NotesThe plaques have a very small burst size (between 1 and 2 mm) and have a clear center with a halo around the edge. The morphology is consistent in that it displays two different sizes (2mm and 1mm) but has a consistent appearance. These findings of two different sizes are consistent across our experiments.
