Discovery NotesThe sample collected was really moist; it was taken from an area with naturally damp soil, which contributed to its soft texture. Not to mention it had also rained the day before the collection, which likely contributed to the overall moisture level.
Naming NotesMy lab partner, Priya, and I selected the name Fruity Pebble because it is a cereal brand we both enjoy, and its connection to ‘cereal’ provided a fitting parallel to the serial dilutions performed in our experiment. Throughout the lab, we performed numerous serial dilutions, so the name also reflected the central technique we relied on to complete our procedures accurately.

Plaque NotesOur plaques were distinctly large and easy to observe. At times, they grew close enough to overlap or appear crowded, but overall, they remained well-isolated. Their size and visibility made it easier to distinguish individual plaques and observe the patterns of growth across the plates.
