Discovery NotesThis phage was found in a flower bed outside of the Korman Center at Drexel University. The soil that contained this phage was extracted 3 inches deep from the surface. A lot of weeds, flowers, and trees surrounded the area where this phage was discovered.
Naming NotesThe name, FunFetti, refers to the Pillsbury baking brand's cake and cupcake recipe that is sold in grocery stores as a boxed cake mix. The cake itself is a vanilla cake base with rainbow sprinkles, and this reminded me of how plaques look on an agar plate at the conclusion of serial dilutions.
