From enriched soil sample? | Yes |
Isolation Temperature | 30°C |
GPS Coordinates | 41.335089 N, 72.942094 W Map |
Discovery Notes | Discovered in a small, shallow (~4in depth) hole in the ground on the SCSU campus. Soil was collected from the bottom of the hole, and was slightly moist and exposed to partial sun. The air temp was 66 degrees F and the previous few days had been sunny with no rain. |
Naming Notes | The original idea for the phage name was "Goose," as trying to amplify this phage seemed like a wild goose chase at times. As the name Goose was taken, "Geese" was suggested as an alternative. |

Plaque Notes | Plaques were relatively small and very faint - at times, nearly impossible to see. Plaques were temperate, about 2mm in diameter, and became marginally clearer with increased incubation time. Plaque centers were cloudy but apparent with edges that faded off. |
