Discovery NotesThis phage was adopted from Emily Johnson. I picked a plaque from a plate during the first round of purification. The soil was collected from the banks of San Joaquin Delta. The soil was brown and composed of 25% sand, 43.75% silt, and 31.25% clay. The pH of the soil was 6.5. Lastly, the percent water was 13.23% and was slightly damp when collected.
Naming NotesSince my phage was slightly larger than several of my classmate's phages, I decided to name my phage "Gigante". "Gigante" is Spanish for "giant".
