Discovery NotesFound in a friend’s homemade compost, beneath about 40 cm of dead leaves. The ambient temperature was around 12 °C.

Genomic DNA was sequenced on a ONT Minion, R10.4.1 chemistry using rapid barcoding V14 and PCR amplification. The longest read was 35,505bp with 94% query cover, 96% identity to phage Stap (cluster F1). Additional reads of 9315bp had 59% query cover, 100% identity to phage UncleRicky (cluster F1)
Naming NotesNamed after the Persian word for “cherry,” inspired by a phage’s appearance, which resembled a cherry with a stem.
