Discovery NotesThe soil sample was collected at the base of an American Sweetgum (Liquidambar styraciflua) tree. The substrate consisted of moist, firm, dark brown dirt covered with decomposing organic matter, including Pignut Hickory (Carya glabra) seeds, American Sweetgum (Liquidambar styraciflua) seeds, and sparse dead leaves. The sample was collected on September 4th, 2025, at 10:28 AM.
