Discovery Notes | The phage was found from dirt with 10% moisture content at the aforementioned GPS coordinates. It was found on August 31st by digging up 1.5 inches of dirt and then collecting a cubic inch of soil. |
Naming Notes | This phage was named after its resilience and gritness that it showed during the isolation process because so many of people in our lab were not as successful. It is also because Purdue University is known to emphasize grit, and so GrittyBoi truly exemplifies the gritness, therefore earning the name GrittyBoi |
