Discovery NotesGuntherGU was found on a cold snowy day on 02/05/23. This phage was found on the shoreline of Lake Arthur, Jepson Center side. We took mud and lake water as well as other organic materials within the mud.
Naming NotesGuntherGU's name was chosen for its first two letters being GU for Gonzaga University. As the name Gunther was already taken, we decided to add GU to the end to shout out Gonzaga University.
