Discovery NotesFound outside the Lied Science building, at the beginning of the bridge. The sample was taken very close to the concrete where there is a lot of human activity as well as wildlife. There are insects, squirrels, and birds. Surrounding the area is a lot of trees and plants that have been getting a lot of moisture the week before that day. The damp soil was more chunky when pulled out containing small rocks and woodchips that were eventually filtered out. The weather was nice that day, sunny and 73 degrees Fahrenheit, after a few days of moisture.
Naming NotesWe named our phage after Jim Halpert, a character from the Office. We named it after him because he's funny, unique, and just like our phage. He encompasses everything our phage should be.
