Discovery NotesSoil sample was taken at a friend's horse barn. Multiple samples were taken in different areas around the property. This soil sample was taken outside the outdoor arena, near a scrap wood pile. A horse named Spencer "assisted" in the soil collection, and a vigilant team of horses supervised.
Naming NotesWe named the phage with respect to the horses that assisted in the process of collecting the phage. They deserved recognition for their contributions. A special shout-out goes to Spencer, who walked with us to the collection site, and sniffed my hair as I collected the soil. He really gave us the moral support needed to take on this research project
