Discovery NotesI found the phage in my mother's backyard in the soil inside her chicken coop. The chicken coop housed chickens, guineas, and quail. The soil contained chicken poop and rotting chicken feed, fruits, and vegetables. I found it in the soil in the area below the roost that the chickens and guineas sleep on at night and the brooder that the quail live in.
Naming NotesMy mother came up with the name for this phage. It is a combination of the words guinea hen, rooster, and quail. She mashed all of them together to form "hen"-"roo"-"que".
