Discovery Information | |
Isolation Host | Mycobacterium smegmatis mc²155 |
Found By | Piper Butts & Greyson Seale |
Year Found | 2023 |
Location Found | Colorado Springs, CO United States of America |
Finding Institution | University of Colorado Boulder |
Program | Science Education Alliance-Phage Hunters Advancing Genomics and Evolutionary Science |
From enriched soil sample? | Unknown |
Isolation Temperature | 25°C |
GPS Coordinates | 38.87085 N, 104.72779 W Map |
Discovery Notes | Was from an unused garden box. |
Naming Notes | The plaque was strong having to do 6 rounds of dilution for a "normal" dilution present. The plaque's morphology seemed abnormally large compared to classmates. Herculean means requiring great strength or effort both of which our phage did. |
