| Discovery Notes | The soil was moist and clumpy because of the storm from the night before. I reached about 3-4 inches deep with a digger and took out about half a Ziploc bag of soil. The soil looked a lot like play doh. |

Phage Hotch is a siphoviridae. Siphoviridae has virions that are made up of stacked disks with six subunits and feature long, noncontractile, thin tails that are bendable. |
