Discovery NotesWe found this sample at 10:02 AM, and our lab group gathered a soil sample from beneath a tree. This soil sample was located near the west-central door of the Glaske Center at Letourneau University. We used a plastic spoon to dig out the area and we dug approximately 8.9 cm x 7.2 cm to end up collecting 10mL of soil. The weather was sunny that day and the temperature was 29.4 degrees Celsius. The soil was moist and had mulch covering the area we dug.
Naming NotesThe name Isso came from the word Isolation. One of our group members is a basketball player, one of the terms we use to get someone alone in a situation is ISO. Since we isolated our phage, that is where we pulled the name.
