Discovery NotesThe soil that this phage was collected from was slightly moist with a sandy consistency. It was collected from about 1-3 inches below the surface of the dirt in a shaded area of a local part. There were a few tufts of grass and weeds growing in this area.
Naming NotesThe two people who worked on isolating this phage both had names that started with the letter "J," so we decided to name our phage after our first two initials-"JandJ"
