Discovery Notes | The soil was located directly between a sidewalk and the side of a house. This area used to include a vegetable garden, but no longer does. The soil is very dry as this area is covered by a roof and receives little rain. |
Naming Notes | Our phage was named after our AP Biology teacher, Mrs. Jillian Whitesell. Because Whitesell is very close to the term "white cell", we decided to name our phage Jilly, a nickname derived from her first name. |
