Discovery NotesI went to the lake to get my sample of soil for this procedure. I chose this area, because the soil looked healthy, not too dry and not too wet. The plaques were lytic since they were perfectly round and clear with no blurriness or fuzzy edges. I got my soil from right next to the lake, which means it had more nutrients since the soil around the lake supports the lake's ecosystem. The sample probably had more organic matter such as bacteria which resulted in my soil sample being more concentrated.
Naming NotesI named my phage Juansa because my lab neighbor and I both got our soil sample from the same location. I mixed our names together to come up with Juansa.

Plaque NotesMy phage's morphology was sipohviridae. My phage was lytic and had a diameter of 1.1 mm initially, but it kept shrinking as the assays went on. The last time I measured my phage was 0.85mm.
