Discovery NotesSoil Sample M was collected on the Smith College campus on 9/27/17 between 10am and 12noon. Weather was partly cloudy and 720F. Soil sample M was collected in the Lyman Plant House in the Tropical rainforest room under the banana tree.
Found approximately 1 cm deep in the soil.
Soil was sandy, semi-dry and medium in color.

Naming NotesKabuki is a form of traditional Japanese theatre which is dramatic and expressive. After viewing our phage with the TEM microscope, we felt that our phage possessed these qualities as well.
