Discovery NotesThe location where the soil was collected is at a tree in front of the Mendel Pond at Merrimack College in North Andover, MA. The conditions that day were partly cloudy, 70°F with 61% humidity. The soil was a brown color with small bits of turquoise fertilizer,
mulch, bark, and leaves in it. The soil was dry, as there was no prior precipitation. The soil was initially disturbed by the test tube given in class, and the tube was used to loosen the soil. The tube given in class was used as a vessel to directly scoop up approximately 15mL of soil. The
soil was collected on the way to class and was brought directly inside to the lab after collection.
Naming NotesA combination of the names of the two students who discovered this specific phage.
