Discovery NotesI got my soil from a park in Bolingbrook, IL. It was snowing the night before which left the soil very moist the next morning. My soil was taken right by a lot of plants and trees. I did this because I knew that there would be more phages next to living organisms, although phages are found everywhere. This location had a lot of potential for bacterial growth because of the fertilizer and compost used on the trees and plants in the park. To collect the soil I used a small shovel and went a couple inches below surface level to obtain good soil. This was done to make sure only soil was being collected with no leaves, sticks, etc. The soil collected was a dark brown almost black color.
Naming NotesI named my phage Kinza because that is the name of my little sister.
