Discovery Notes | I chose my soil beside my house, outside the porch in Glen Ellyn, IL. The soil was a bit wet and rough since the weather was very cold and it had snow on top of it. The location of the soil was outside my house beside the porch, and I believed the soil would be a bit wet and dry since the weather was very cold and it soil had enough snow on top of it. In order to get my sample, I have to shovel out the ice and then dig harder since the snow and soil were hard, then I used normal gloves in order to avoid getting any soil In my hands or nails, I tried removings ome of the bark and any ants within it in order to make it analyzation easier and to get rid of any excess stuff which is unnecessary for the phage project. I collected about a pack of medium-sized sandwich bag size samples of soil. The physical appearance of the soil was dark, brown with some barks and small pieces of wood that were throughout the soil. |
Naming Notes | The reason I chose my Phage Name as Komar was because I included my first letter and last name which is Khan to my first name which I chose it to be as Komar |

Plaque Notes | Plaque Diameter: 1mm Plaque radius: 0.5mm I had a small phage on my bacterial plates that measured a diameter of 1mm and a radius of 0.5mm. Since my Radius was small, I had a higher amount of PFU required for a webbed plate, and if the radius was larger, the PFU required to create a webbed plate was small. |
