Discovery NotesA soil sample was collected on 15SEPT2022 from under a shade tree on the Mount St. Mary's University campus between Bradley Hall and Terrace. The outdoor temperature was 87°F. The sampled soil was approximately 1-2 inches from the surface and about 1 foot from the base of
the tree. The soil was brittle and dry. The phage was isolated by enrichment culturing at 25°C.
Naming NotesThe phage was a named after my favorite sound effect from my favorite childhood movie, Cars. Lightning McQueen's slogan was “KACHOW”. I changed Kachow to Kowchie to give it my own unique flair.
