Plaque Notes | The plaques in this lab were cloudy, large, and had a turbid on the perimeter, and this remained consistent throughout the whole time allotted. We classified LAXX as temperate because of the consistency of the morphology. Due to the temperate nature of our phage, there would be lytic phage in the middle of our plague clearing it completely, and lysogenic phages in the turbid which are replicating normally with the bacteria cell. We did an electron microscopy and as you can see in figure 5, we have a siphoviridae with an average capsid head size of 63.98nm, and an average tail length of 214.63nm. There is a long tail which is noncontractible. |
