Discovery NotesThe soil sample was obtained from beneath a growing cactus, about 2 inches below ground-level. As a thriving cactus, decomposition takes place in the soil due to the caring mother that nourishes it. This particular sample had a living worm in it, therefore the discovery is dedicated to that mother and worm.
Naming NotesThe name is derived from the pioneer that discovered the phage. It is "Itzel" spelled backwards.
