Discovery NotesThe phage was found outside Sutherland West Residence hall (University of Pittsburgh), on 29 August 2018 at 11:49 AM. The soil was slightly moist, loose and full of mulch.
Naming NotesThe name for this phage comes from the name of the spider from the animation videos of 'Lucas the Spider.' I have always loved this animation and has made spiders less intimidating for me. Similarly, my work with 'Lucas the Phage' will make research and phages less intimidating for me.

Plaque NotesThe Direct Isolation plate had a number of small clear plaques (about 1-2mm in diameter). The plaques covered almost the entire plate in quantity.
In Plaque Purification #7 (from liquid lysate), there two different kinds of plaques - the small clear plaques and larger, turbid plaques, about 2mm in diameter.
However, on further purification, plaques with the priginal morphology were found. The lysate was created using a plate with this morphology (small clear plaques, about 1-2mm in diameter)
