Discovery NotesThis phage was found in the heart of Pittsburgh, downtown. It was discovered in the spring semester of 2025 specifically on 1/28/2025. It originated in very cold, hard, dry, fine/sandy, ground dirt. It was scraped up from beside a building, while it was very cold outside and flurrying. Group members working with this phage include: Kasey, Sharanya, and Madison.
Naming NotesLucius comes from the movie Gladiator 2. He is the main character in the movie and is arguably the underdog in the beginning. We chose this as a name for our phage as we see our phage as the underdog. We were skeptical at first, but we are hopeful our phage pulls through.
