Discovery NotesSoil was collected from approximately 2 inches below the surface. Collection was completed in a neighborhood/residential area with many people and homes present. It was 60 degrees F out the day of collection and was partly cloudy, with some sunlight still out. It had rained the day before so the soil was soft and still had a decent amount of moisture to it.
Naming NotesLune was chosen as a reference to lunar and how the phage creates plaques and indents on the agar surface like how craters are indents on the surface of the moon. 24 is the averaging of the date of birth of the three main scientists (first three listed in "Found By"). K was picked to signify 24 karat, karat being the measurement of gold's purity, signifying the significance the project has held for the discoverers and nodding to a pop culture reference
