Discovery NotesCollected on 09-01-25 at 3:56 pm depth : The soil sample appears to come from a shallow depth of about 2-4 inches. I inserted a picture of how much the soil was scooped just under the top mulch.
moisture : The soil is dark brown to black, crumbly, and contains fine roots, suggesting a high organic matter content. Its color and texture indicate it is moist, not dry, but not waterlogged.
The soil was collected near a large green utility box, with roots from nearby plants/trees extending into the soil. The area is covered with a layer of mulch on top, with gravel and small stones placed around the base of the utility structure for drainage. The presence of roots and organic matter indicates that despite the built environment, plant growth is active in the area.
Naming NotesLysara – from lysis (phage activity) + ara (elegant suffix, also links to my roots)
