Discovery NotesA sample of soil was taken from an area in front of the Science Building at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University located in Greensboro North Carolina. The original soil sample was retrieved 1.5 inches below the surface close to the root of the plant. The sample itself was dry in texture but dark in coloration indicating that it was a fairly good sample to use for testing.
Naming NotesThe scientists responsible for the discovery of this phage are Amina Bradley and Louisa MacCormack. With intentions of being credited for their work, they decided to use a combination of their last names to rightfully claim their discovering. Furthermore, they named their phage MacBradley.
