| Discovery Notes | My phage was found at the coordinated of 39.68133 N, 77.35163 W. At the time of my collection of the environmental sample containing the phage the temperature was 73 degrees F. I found this phage next to a pathway that leads down to the Knott Academic Center, about 5 yards from this pathway. Additionally, the environmental sample was taken about 1-2 yards from a mulch flower bed that is home to a couple of bushes. There is a tree nearby that provides some shade. The sample was taken from a grassy area, yet the exact place in which I scraped up my sample was from an area with no grass, that was just a dirt area. |
| Naming Notes | I chose to name this phage after myself. The MMacDonald13, where the M represents the first letter of my first name ‘Maddie’ followed by ‘MacDonald’ my last name. On the end, I have the number 13, which was my old soccer number that I had worn as I grew up. |
