Discovery NotesThe soil collected for this sample comes from my backyard garden, in which many animals come and eat the various vegetables in it. Because of the high animal activity, I hypothesized that there would be a higher phage presence in the soil. I collected a small shovel-full of soil after it rained the previous night, on a cold fall day.
Naming NotesThe name of this phage is "Majnoon", which means crazy in Arabic. I chose this name because there would regularly be extremely high plaque presence on agar plates, making me think it was a crazy phage.
