Discovery Notes | Soil samples was collected from the base of a live oak (Quercus virginiana) in the cistern area at the College of Charleston. The specific tree from which the soil samples was taken beneath was the one with the plaque honoring Fitz-John Creighton McMaster. Soil had a topsoil consistency, moist and rich. Many small tree roots were running through the top layer of the soil. |
