Discovery NotesThe soil sample was collected outside the Glaske Center for Engineering, Science, and Technology building at LeTourneau University on 23rd August 2022. The weather was slightly cloudy with a slight breeze, and 90% Humidity. It was not raining, but had rained in the past 24 hours. The ground was moist and covered with mulch.
Naming NotesThe name Mikedrop was chosen because MIKE was our lab group name, based on the first name initial of each of our group members, and bacteriophages morphologically hold a resemblance to microphones. At the end of a performance or speech, the presenter may intentionally drop their microphone, where by the “mic drop” gesture signals triumph.
