Naming Notes | I decided to name my phage MISchief due to the trouble this experiement has given me in producing a phage. I got this inspiration from one of the definitions of the word mischief, “trouble caused by something.” I thought it was appropriate not only for my phage in particular, but the very act of phages, because of their inconsistency, or trouble-making, I like to call it, phage therapy was delayed in the United States, with the rise of new antibiotics. During the course of this experiment, after three samples, I was unable to collect a phage, and then even after using my professor’s phage sample, mine is not your average clear phage, but a cloudy one. Due to the mischief ensuing on the bacterial level of my phage experiment, I think MISchief will fit my phage perfectly. |
