Discovery Notes | This collection site was a small boat harbor next to Lake Michigan and the Lincoln Park Zoo. The water was semi-clear with a green hue to it. The dirt was a dark brown color and moist. It seemed as though some geese may have stopped by due to the number of feathers mixed in with the dirt. I collect the dirt near the shore of the docks, next to a tree and some yellow flowers. |
Naming Notes | Moku is a Hawaiian word that translates to a boat in English. This word also has many other meanings but this meaning was chosen due to the location the sample was collect, which was a boat dock. |

Lysogeny Notes | The experiment determined that the phage Moku is in the lysogenic cycle. The bacteria grown were from three separate colonies on the plate, all hosts seem to act differently with the pages in the class. Only 3 phages including Moku were resistant to the host C. These phages seem to be similar to Moku as well. |
Annotating Institution | Unknown or unassigned |
Annotation Status | Not sequenced |
Plaque Notes | The plaque appears clear and large when grown on a plate. Based on this and the TEMs as well as other experiments, can hypothesis the possibility that Moku may be under the EK1 cluster. This has not yet been confirmed. |
