Discovery NotesWe found the sample under a tree in a wet environment in Aberdeen, Washington.
Naming NotesWe chose the name MudDog because the phage was isolated from soil, and soil is full of mud. Which is exactly the kind of environment where bacteriophages thrive. We also thought about how dogs are known for digging and playing in dirt, and how we dug up this soil.
