Discovery NotesSample was from the soil under a brick that was overturned. Numerous insect life and worms were found underneath. After adding growth media to soil sample, 2 earthworms, 3 small white worms, and a pillbug emerged from the soil and drowned in the media. They were not deliberately added to the sample.
Naming NotesThe soldiers of Achilles, the myrmidons were an army transformed from the remaining ant population of his island after the humans were eradicated by a plague from Hera. Phages convert matter from bacteria into more phages, comparable to how the ants were turned into soldiers.
