Discovery Notes | Sample was from the soil under a brick that was overturned. Numerous insect life and worms were found underneath. After adding growth media to soil sample, 2 earthworms, 3 small white worms, and a pillbug emerged from the soil and drowned in the media. They were not deliberately added to the sample. |
Naming Notes | The soldiers of Achilles, the myrmidons were an army transformed from the remaining ant population of his island after the humans were eradicated by a plague from Hera. Phages convert matter from bacteria into more phages, comparable to how the ants were turned into soldiers. |
