Discovery NotesThe soil sample was collected in a fairly urban area (next to a middle school). It was specifically obtained from an area next to a concrete sidewalk.
The site is next to a road, but the road is closed off from traffic and only people can walk through. It can be assumed foot traffic is limited since people are more likely to walk on the concrete sidewalk next to the area from which the soil was obtained. The sample of dirt was surrounding by patches of grass and weeds. There are no immediate trees or other major plants near the site. The site is flat, not sloped.
Naming NotesWe named our phage Nairobi because we all agreed it was a beautiful name and city.
